Dimensionless Pressure Response Analysis for Water Supply Pipeline Systems with or without Pumping Station

Dimensionless governing equations of unsteady flow and solutions for the pipeline systems having a surge tank were developed. Frequency domain pressure response expressions two widely used water supply analyzed in dimensionless frequency time domains. One is simple reservoir valve system other with pump check protected by tank. Two different developed performance was compared. The pattern impedance at downstream indicated that resonance determined lengths main connector locations protection pumping station. difference between expressed terms phase distribution. integrated section evaluated considering impact domain. A better understanding behavior can be obtained specific component isolation both responses. driven responses an important basis optimum design operation conditions space.
